Hello and Welcome!

My name is Stephanie Alston and I am the owner/primary service provider of Stephanie’s Pampered Pet Care. Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Even as a small child, I would play veterinarian with my stuffed animals, making sure they were all healthy. I dreamed of being a veterinarian. After high school though, I found my dream career choice and enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at North Dakota State University. I decided to become a veterinary technician because even though we work as a team with veterinarians, I felt that as a vet tech, I had more hands on with our furry patients. The nursing care, the one on one with the animals is what drew me in. I am a firm believer that TLC is just as important as the medicines and treatments.  In 1998, I graduated from NDSU with a Bachelor’s degree and began my career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

I have worked in the veterinary hospital setting for 13 years, the last six of which were in emergency medicine. In 2011, I decided I needed a break from emergency medicine and became a stay-at-home mom for our three beautiful children. Being home when they get out of school has been a blessing and although we have four furry rescues that we share our home with, I missed caring for other people’s furry companions, too. And that brings us to June 2015 and the start of Stephanie’s Pampered Pet Care!

I have been pet sitting since I was in my teens but had never thought of turning it into a business. June 2022 marks my seventh year and it’s still the best of both worlds, flexible hours to be there for my children and taking care of client furry companions when they are unable.
